Warwick Esports Dominates Winter Season

The days are at their shortest and are increasingly being spent roaming Night City, which can only mean one thing: winter has come. With term one coming to a close, the exec team wanted to recap the society’s successes so far this year and shout out some of our more recent achievements.

This term has been an outstanding one for Warwick Esports, not least because of our tournament performances. We’ve managed to accumulate a monstrous lead in the NSE BUEC points standings, which places us in a very comfortable position to retain our title as UK Esports University of the Year for a third year running.

This is the largest lead we have ever had at this point in the year, which is a testament to the amazing efforts put in by everyone who played for us this term.

We’ve also earnt another award for being the university with the most success in tournaments: the NUEL Esports/Gaming Society of the Term.

This award will net us £1,000 of prize money that we can use to make the society experience even more awesome for our members.

And to add to that, our very own Giniiro won the NUEL award for Streamer of the Term, rounding out a first term that was just about as successful as it could have been.

All of this comes on top of our successful EUTOPIA events, a new HyperX partnership, and our new merch being launched. With all of this in mind, we are looking forward with eager anticipation to what we’ll collectively be able to accomplish next term. Have a safe and merry winter break from Warwick Esports.
